Smith-Crafted Chicago caduceus antique medical box

This box belonged to my Grandmother: she kept first aid supplies in it for many, many years.

I am not an antiques dealer, but given the fact that this is obviously very old, I would say that it is in good condition.

I don't know alot about this piece aside from what I can see:

- One piece design (lid is attached)

- Red Caduceus/Wand of Hermes on lid (medical symbol of wand with two serpents and wings)

- Black bottom, red textured sides, gold back and lid (red and gold sides appear to be leather?); natural wood interior (not sure of material, but I believe it is thin wood)

- Measures 8 3/4" long, 3 1/2" wide, and 3 1/8" tall (approximately)

- Aside from normal wear (some peeling of lid covering, some worn corners), it is in perfectly good shape. However, you can see from the pictures and make your own judgment on condition: it may be in better/worse condition than I am guessing.

It's a very unique item that would be a nice addition to your collection of antiques, medical-themed collectibles, etc.
