beautiful solid silver antique pocket watch and chain

1901 SOLID SILVER ANTIQUE POCKET WATCH WITH ALBERT CHAIN AND FOB

This beautiful solid silver antique pocket watch was manufactured by renowned watch maker J.G Graves of Sheffield. The stunning white cream face (approx 54mm diameter) features crisp black Roman numerals and delicate brass hour and minute hands. A smaller sub dial has a sweeping second hand of cobalt blue. The main watch face is in truly superb condition with the exception of a small area of 'nibbling' at the outer edge of the one oclock position.

The outer face of the rear case has ornate engraving (see photo) and the inner face features four hallmark stamps including the iconic 'lion' mark. Both front and rear cases close accurately with a lovely precise 'snap'.

The solid silver Albert chain is approximately 13'' in length and features links which, unusually, rise and fall in size. Each individual link is hallmark stamped as is the top swivel piece, T - bar and attached fob.

The watch is key wound (supplied), runs reliably and keeps surprisingly accurate time for such an old piece. This, I think, proves further the quality of the original manufacturer.

This is truly a lovely, heavyweight gentlemens pocket watch which will make a superb present or be a great addition to an enthusiasts collection.
