This is a great original period grouping ,with notes verifying when and where they were used, notes accompany the buckle in iron gull ink, ''THE BUCKLE IS FOR HIS UNIFORM FATHERS KNIFE & FORK ,HE USED IN CAMP SEA GIRT. HE WAS THE FIRST 2 LT. OF CO. G '' this is the note on the fork and knife. The note in the soap dish states '' Fathers soap case he used when he was 2rd Lieutent of co. g 1st . reg , N.J. ''HE USED THE SOAP CASE WHEN HE WENT WITH THE REGEMENT TO SEA GIRT EVERY SUMMER. GEORGE BUTTLE WAS CAPT. COUSIN HARRY 1ST LT. FATHER 2RD. I have done limited research on this grouping, but SEA GIRT was a camp the New JERSY units used during the Spanish American War period. All four items and the notes will be sold as a group since they were bought as a group and come from the same person.
