This is one of five remaining , from a small collection of Santo Crowns, on consignment for auction, from one of the convents we work with in Peru . We will provide each winning bidder with the provenance of the crown they have won upon request. This one was hand made by a silversmith for a Santo in their convent more than 60 years ago. The Santo it belonged to no longer exist, but the nuns kept the crown thinking that they could one day be reunited with a new Santo. Silver crowns like these are rarely found today, as most have been melted down for their silver value. You are bidding on the crown pictured below and it can be considered a medium size for this collection. It is 3.75 inches tall and the diameter of the crown at its base is 1.75 inches. The circumference of the crown opening is 4.75 inches, if you need to measure your own Santo for fit, this it the measurement you need. It is marked sterling on the bringe of the crown as you can see in the pictures as this is a vintage crown. The crown is tarnished and we have not cleaned it at the request of several collectiors. The name of the product we use to safely clean our own antique silver is FLITZ POLISH.
