A spectacular 1930s era applique butterfly quilt with postage stamp pieces along the sashing and borders. The tiny squares measure only 1 to 1/4 inch in size. There's many feedsacks and other prints. Some juveniles. This piece is very special and super large in size. It measures a generous 110 x 88 inches. Hand quilted 7-8 stitches per inch. Pencil lines show. The embroidery work is hand sewn. Binding is hand sewn and batting is thin. Light age spotting. Crisp, never used or washed. The condition is wonderful. Collected in Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
