Please read this before bidding! Micromounts are specimens which require magnification (sometimes a lot) for proper appreciation, so please be aware of this when purchasing and read the measurements of the specimen carefully to make sure you know the size of what you are ordering. Many of these specimens will not look like anything of value without good magnification!! Thumbnail specimens are specimens that fit in a 1.25 inch (~3.3cm) plastic box, which should give you an idea of scale. Sphalerite Up for sale is a 8x7.5x7 cm piece of limestone matrix hosting numerous deep red Sphalerite crystals with black bitumen (dried oil) in a pocket that appears to have been a dissolved out clam fossil from Maumee, Ohio. The specimen is sawed off on the base. Damage to some of the Sphalerite crystals keeps the price low, but this is an unusually large and rich specimen for any Ohio locality, and is certainly particularly nice by Maumee standards! Ex.
