An original Spong Hand mincer from the 1970's but completely unused (but no original box) in mint condition. It was selected for the Design Centre London in the 1970's. The company with the unusual name Spong and Co. and who made domestic machines was founded by James Osborn Spong in 1856. The body is in aluminium and the bowl is in plastic and the cutters are in stainless steel. It has a suction bottom designed to "suck" itself onto a clean level surface by operating the lever on its base. The entire mincing section at the top is detachable for washing.
