Original Interior / Exterior Photo Booklet for the Italian Lines'ss Roma (1932-1943)First class interior / exterior photo booklet, circa 1936.Official booklet with 16 pages, measures 8" x 9"Showing beautiful black and white photos of interiorlounges and exterior spaces, promenade deck, pool area.Inside front cover has signatures of fellow passengers.Front and back covers and pages are super!!Very Good condition.Original Interior Photo Booklet for the Italian Lines'Very Good condition.FYI: The 32,583 grt, 709-ft Roma was built by G.Ansaldo & Co, Sestri Ponente , Italy in 1926 for Navigazione Generale Italiana.She had capacity for 375-1st, 300-2nd, 300-intermediate and 700-3rd class passengers.She sailed her maiden voyage from Genoa for Naples and New York on September 21, 1926.In January 1932 the Roma was transferred to Italian company Italia - Societa Di Navigazione.In April 1933 she was refitted (30,638 gt) to accommodate 1st, 2nd, tourist and 3rd class passengers.In February and April 1935 she made two Trieste - New York voyages under charterto Cosulich Line and was then transferred to the Genoa - Naples - South America service.In 1943 the vessel was converted to an aircraft carrier for the Italian navy and renamed Aquila .She was damaged by bombing at Genoa on June 16, 1944, and on April 25, 1945 was sunk by aerial torpedoes.
