Sterling LIMA OHIO OIL WELL Souvenir Spoon - 1898 Towle

For your consideration a fabulous 5 3/4 inch bright-cut engraved sterling souvenir spoon from Lima Ohio with a depiction of an old Oil Well/Derrick in the bowl. (light or dark areas seen are merely a reflection of the camera flash-t is no green on the spoon as seen in photos)
The spoon pattern is, in my opinion, simply stunning with elegant ornate design features on both front & back! I have tried as best I could to capture the magnificent beauty of this spoon with several pictures but our photos still do not begin to show the sharp crisp intricate details featured!
Stamped on the back side is the old maker mark of Towle (standing lion inside T) sterling Pat 1898 Towle Silversmiths Newburyport Massachusetts Ca. 1873. It has a good solid weight to it.
As stated above the handle, in raised relief, is exquisite in the 1898 Georgian pattern depicting roses, a fluted column, basket of roses, scrolls & floral swag motif. The back of the bowl depicts, in raised relief, a rose basket & floral swag extending down from the sides of the basket. The bottom of the basket reads 925/1000.
The bright-cut engraved bowl is fantastic with the depiction of an Oil Well Lima O (inscribed at top) buildings, storage containers, tree lined hills in the background and birds overhead. The art work is superb and was clearly done
