Stonebridge Folding Candle Lantern

This is a Stonebridge Folding Lantern. (Pat. No. 1152571). The U.S. Patent database indicates that this lamp was patented on Sept. 7th, 1915 by C.H. Stonebridge Mfg. Co of NY NY. The Specification of Letters is interesting to read because it appears the lamp was patented as much for its ventilation system that allow it to be used indoors and outdoors in windy conditions as it was for it's folding capability.
This lantern is in good condition with only one small piece (3/8") of mica missing on the upper right hand side window opening (see photo). The other two panels are in good shape. It still contains an old tallow like candle inside. The lamp is 10 inches high with out the handle extended. Because of it's ability to protect the candle flame from wind I can envision that this type of lamp could have been used in small mining operations.
