Stratford Pato Fountain Pen (Salz Brothers), Vintage

The Salz Brothers earlier pens were "eye droppers," but in the early 20s they began making lever fill pens. The Salz Brothers changed the name of their company to Stratford Pen Co., probably due to feeling their original name was hindering sales, and indeed, after the name change sales picked up a bit. The ripple point is right at the "A" and the "T" on the clip. The "Durium 8" nib has lost some of its plating, but remains a very nice, smooth, and flexible writer. T is also some noticable brassing on the metal parts. "Stratford" and "Pato" are engraved on the clip. The Casein has a tinge of yellowing,
