RARE Marked Davenport "Milkmaid" Pattern 1820 TEAPOT Beautifully Potted Pearlware w/ Medium Dark Staffordshire Blue Transfers SIZE & CONDITION: 7-3/4" tall from base to handle's thumb rest. 13 hole drainer in reverse pyramid configuration. Clean without discoloring throughout. Pedestal ring base with slightly recessed bottom clearly marked DAVENPORT. Blue glaze pooling evident in crevices. Missing lid. Appears beautiful on display with shiny glaze, dark to medium Staffordshire blue and bluish-white creamy ground. Roughness and small nibbles to the spout's rim. Base and mid-section and semi-helmet flange appear perfect. Repair to handle and crack running from inside handle base to the opening rim with what looks to be about an inch long chip re-stuck. Hairline to the right lost in pattern at impact spot aforementioned inside base of handle. Still, damage is not evident to the casual observor and this piece is an absolute joy to touch, to own and to observe!
