Stylized Spanish Rapier Sword of Conquistador Explorer

Stylized Spanish Rapier Sword of Conquistador Explorer

This beautiful sword is inspired by the travels of the Conquistadors, and the 'New World' in which they found themselves. It bears similarities to the Spanish cup hilt rapier in design, but with a shallower cup. Design of the sword is that of a ceremonial or dress sword such as one of the Conquistadors may have carried, with it's heavy decoration and unsharpened edge.

The cup of the hilt is molded with decoration on both the inside and outside; both stylizations of different types of Portuguese Compass Roses that were placed on maps by Portuguese mapmakers of this time period. The 440 stainless steel blade is deeply etched in a design that recalls architecture of the Aztecs and other cultures of the 'New World'. A cameo of an explorer with two swords and an early era gun crossed behind his head is molded into the locket of the scabbard above a typical Spanish design. Pommel and Chape are also molded with traditional Spanish designwork. Molded resin grip is ridged for a comfortable grip. Sheath is made of black enameled metal. Total length of sword in sheath measures 35.5". Total length of sword without sheath measures 32.75" with a blade length of 27.25".

This is new, with no problems.
