This is a superb 19thc ecclesiastical gothic oak carving with heraldic shield to centre and with trefoil carvings to top. Originally the back of a chair that originates from the sale of church furniture and effects. Fine attention to detail on this gothic carving. The condition of this carving is excellent with an age crack to bottom of one side - as per images. Nothing significant and nothing which detracts from the beauty of the carved detail itself. Measurements : 22.25" x 13.25" max width. A superb collectable 19thc ecclesiastic gothic oak carving with trefoil and heraldic decor.
