Boleite with Atacamite

Sierra Gorda District, Antofagasta Province, Antofagasta Region, Chile

7cm x 5.5cm x 5.1cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of this rare and sought after species from Chile!!! While most collectors have seen the familiar boleite crystals from Mexico, these unique specimens from Chile are quite scarce by comparison!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of intergrown clusters of intense royal blue boleite crystals in association with a small amount of green atacamite (or possibly another rarer species)!!! The boleite crystals exhibit characteristic cubic form with glassy luster and marked clarity!!! In addition to the main clusters of crystals, there are some small flattened "balls" of crystals scattered about on the specimen as well!!! This specimen is simply incredible upon close inspection with a loupe or scope!!! Rare material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 7th!!!
