H0102.GILDSQUARE2.* Superb small freeblown case bottle,for snuff, spirits or powdered foodstuffs, dark to md olive green, C1750 or possibly earlier, naively gilded to shoulders with tulip figures, roundels and floral wreath encircling round shoulder top. Raised whittled base with ultra sharp large jagged blowpipe pontil, sagged sides with various bubbles and tears and striations, very sunk flat shoulder one side with very short wide offcentre necks, highly striated on one side with pewter threaded collar to take pewter threaded top, stamped above with crowned rose mark and initials not quite legible "IW" either side. A rare, early and superb form, with much crudity and appeal. Complete with pewter top and touchmark usually associated with Amsterdam.
