This is a stunning 9 carat solid gold fully hallmarked Art Deco 1927 Scottish agate and Cairngorm citrine dirk brooch.I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found. There is a beautiful selection of Scottish stones with green and red speckled bloodstone from the Isle of Rum, orange Campsie fells jasper and a lovely facetted golden citrine from the Cairngorm mountain range which has been fully tested by a local jeweller to confirm it is a real citrine. The brooch is made of 9 carat gold and has a full set of hallmarks with makers J.C. & S,( Joseph Cook & son ) a 9 and .375 for 9 carat gold , the anchor for Birmingham assay office and date letter C for 1927. The length is 3.8 cm and the pin and C clasp are original and in good working condition. The brooch has it's original loop on the back to fit a safety chain and pin.
