This auction is for a Swatow Kiln Ware Export Blue and White Bowl. Swatow ware or Swatow is a common name for a group of mainly late Ming Dynasty export porcelain from China intended for the South East Asian market. This bowl was on display at JADESTONE GALLERY in Portland Or. They were the ones to identify it as a Swatow Kiln Ware piece. The bowl has what looks like a crab motif in blue and then a light Celadon overglaze. I am not a pottery or chinese art expert and so I am going on what JADESTONE GALLERY told me about this piece. I do have a copy of the Consignment agreement from JADESTONE GALLERY identifying this piece as Swatow Ware and will email it to anyone who asks. I cannot guarantee 100% that this is a true Swatow Kiln Ware piece and ask that you identify this piece through questions and the provided Photos.
