We have a large number of vintage and antique clocks currently listed along with an equally large number of music boxes and other very nice collectibles. Be sure to have a look at our other items ! This is an outstanding find of a rare, working, key wind, desk or vanity clock that was created in "Switzerland" about 55 years ago and signed on the dial by "Swiza-Sheffield," one of the finest quality partnerships to ever enter the clockmaking business. I believe this clock was a prototype since it's marked as "Patent Pending" on the back and though Switzerland is the place w the finest proto-models are made, Sheffield is a German company with some British roots as well. It's possible that once the prototype was made, the main line of the clock was produced somew else. This one, however, comes from Switzerland and is fitted with a precision-made, key wind, mechanical movement. The clock is made to look very much like a fancy old skeleton key and is beautifully detailed. The case is made of brasstone metal and finished in shiny and brushed brasstone and flat black enamel on the key stem; very nice! The ornate pieces on either end are brasstone metal too. T is a beaded bezel surrounding the dial and black roman numerals appear as well to mark the hours. T is a clear convex cover inset into the bezel over the dial; no cracks or chips that
