DESCRIPTION Fort Knox Antiquities is very pleased to offer this great Pre-Columbian Stone Hacha. Fine stone axe or hacha from the Taino culture of the Caribbean Islands, most likely Hispaniola, dating between 1000 and 1450 A.D. Black hard-stone carved into figure of a monkey with drilled eyes and nostrils, string-cut features for appendages, small axe head at reverse. The item measures, 3 inches wide and 3.75 inches tall.
