Hey Ya'll! Up for auction, you will be bidding on this beautiful, vintage sterling silver compact from old Taxco, Mexico. What an excellent example of the artistic magnificence and pure talent exhibited by the silversmiths' of old Mexico. What a splendid early mexican piece to add to your collection of old Mexican sterling silver. Item can be used as a c ompact, pill box, or is ideal for storage of small jewelry items.

Construction of the compact reveals very intricately detailed, fantastic Aztec carvings around the outer portion. In the middle are etchings of what appears to be a Mexican Church in the town of Taxco Mexico; "TAXCO" carved beneath. Shiny compact is round in shape and opens by pressing in the front tab. Upon opening, the inner center shield reveals etchings of pretty circular pattern designs. This shield is opened with another push button by moving it to the right which then reveals the inner well, and closes when the shield is clamped back firmly into place. Inside the well sits the original sifter, but no powder puff, and the same pretty circular pattern design as on the shield.
