You are viewing an exquisite antique clock. This little gem dates back to the early 1930's. This old timepiece was produced by the renowned "Telechron" company and the piece is marked accordingly on both the face and the back of the wooden cabinet. Warren, the founder of Telechron, commissioned noted designer Jacques Bars to create this special clock. The name of this time keeping ornament is: The Olympic. This decorative arts beauty is done in a spectacular two tone woodenware case. My guess would be maple and walnut. The face sports a bold gold ring that bears contrasting black roman numerals . . . stunning! The hands are done in brass polished to a mirror like shine. This is model number 4B79 which is distinguished by it's AM and PM window. This little circular window displays red for night, and white for day. The face is accentuated by a square convex glass crystal framed within a dazzling brass frame. This bookcase watch sports a dynamic art deco appeal featuring period symmetry combined with ribbed woodwork . . . absolutely fabulous! This collectible time instrument has its original electrical cord tipped with a bakelite prong housing. I, however, would recommend replacing the cord because it is a bit beat up and could be dangerous. The simple lines of this primitive hour box allow it to blend nicely in a variety of interior
