The BEST Wrought Iron Betty Lamp, Signed, 18th Century

The absolute Best American Wrought Iron Double "Betty" Lamp. American, mid 18th century, circa 1740-1760, PERFECT in all aspects. Original "pic" and chain. Original shaped and twisted handle. The BEST form. The surface is great, untouched, uncleaned old quality and patina. Great tool marks throughout. But the most important aspect is that it is "signed" on the front cruise pan. Although clear and fully developed I can not make out the name.

This is a very important piece of American lighting.

The lamp is 6 1/2" tall without the handle, 12" with it. The pans are 4" and 3 3/4" long and just about 1" tall and 2" across.

This is the BEST Betty Lamp I've seen, bar none. The condition is PERFECT and the surface is PERFECT. The form is the best and the addition of a makers mark puts it into a class of it's own. This would "MAKE" a collection of early lighting.

Typical wear and imperfections with age as described above.

Low starting Price and very low reserve.

Insurance is included in shipping charges.
