The absolute Best Cast Iron "MINERS" Lamp with the RARE "ROOSTER" KNOB. Mid 18th century, circa 1740-1760, PERFECT in all aspects.

Original shaped and twisted handle as well as its original large hanging hook. The BEST form. The surface is great, untouched, uncleaned old quality and patina. Great tool marks throughout.

Most Miner's Lamp were fabricated of heavy cast iron to withstand the physical abuse associated with that profession. The extremely heavy hanging hook is also common with this type of lamp. What is not common is the perfect condition this lamp is in.

This is a very important piece of lighting.

The lamp is 6 1/2" tall without the handle, 19" with it. The pan is 5" across.

This is the BEST Miner's Lamp I've seen in a very long time. The condition is PERFECT and the surface is PERFECT. The form is the best and the addition of a brass wick cover puts it into another class.

This great piece of lighting is a musuem piece and would "MAKE" a collection of early lighting.

Typical wear and imperfections with age as described above.
