This Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, 1880's Tree of Life quilt measures 86" x 85" with about 10 stitches per inch. It has a thin, cotton batting. It is a delight to see the red trees against the blue background, framed by the green borders and sashing. The sashing has an even, mellow color, made from a fugitive dye which is over 100 years old. Yet the "fading" is so EVEN that it appears to be a color change between the border and the sashing color. This early Tree of Life Quilt is about as early as this pattern ever gets. This quilt would make a wonderful holiday gift.To all our friends and customers, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a happy new year! The quilts that we deal in are genuine, authentic, original, hand made, hand quilted beautiful antique quilts. During our years in the quilt business we have helped assemble some of the finest quilt collections, both public and private, in the nation.
