This item has been re-listed. This is a True View Stereo Viewer from the early 1950s with its original box, films and paper leaflets. The viewer is in great condition with no chips, cracks or scratches and the mechanism works well. The film strips are fed in from the side and the handle indexes them along one stereo image at a time to reveal a stunning 3D image. The main body of the viewer is made of a cream coloured, Bakelite material and the front is a dark brown. The surfaces are clean and smooth. The True View is a direct copy of the American Tru-Vue viewer but was made in England by SEL (Signaling Equipment Ltd) The viewer is 11.5cm (4.5") long and 6.5cm (2.5") from the eye pieces to the diffuser face. This set comes with two film strips. No.13 "The Highland Line. "Perthshire and Angus)2 and No.20 "The Historic Thames". Both strips depict black and white images of these scenic subjects as they would have appeared back in the late 1940s / early 1950s. They are both complete with their protective boxes and are in very good condition. (Film strips and Boxes) According to the catalogue list each film strip contains "14 specially photographed views, stereoscopically paired to give perfect three-dimensional vision. Retail at 2s 6d each" Brilliant! The set also contains the original instructions leaflet together with a "catalogue"
