***TUCSON 2007 - Rare Polished Nuummit Nuummite Nuumite Heart Pendant From Greenland***

Nuummit is considered one of the oldest stones in the world. It is found in the Isua-area, near Nuuk, Greenland. It is estimated that Nuummit is 3.8 billion years old. Nuummit consists of Anthophyllite (Mg,Fe)7Si8O22(OH)2 and Gedrite (Mg,Fe)5Al2(Al,Si)8O22 (OH)2 which are both orthoamphiboles of volcanic origin.

Nuummit is a beautiful stone that is often used in jewelry. It has a black background with occurences of gold irridescencent flashes. I was only able to capture some of the colorful flashes in my photos. If you look closely at the stone you will see rainbows inside the gold flashes.

Nuummit is a powerful meditation and gazing stone. It is said that wearing Nummit will bring self-mastery, magic and manifestation into your life. According to Robert Simmons, co-author of The Book Of Stones, "Nuummite has the power to take one on a journey into the depths of the human psyche."

Tuscon 2007 update: I was able to bring back several Nuummite Heart Pendants from a vendor who claims he is the only one to offer it in hearts.
