This auction is for an excellent quality U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal properly numbered at the 6 0'clock position on the rim "69270". It has the correct wrap brooch that functions properly; the retainer is top loaded. The ribbon drape is just slightly dulled but otherwise excellent. The planchet still has much of the gold wash present and the only marring is a slight scratch on the unnamed reverse. Vernon's Collectors' Guide of 2000 lists this medal at $55.00. The most recent of Strandberg's "The Call of Duty" indicates that this is the second strike of this medal, with the first strike restricted to the first 200 numbers only, and all numbered Army Good Conduct Medals having been issued to recipients who served just prior to WW II. Please see the scans for details. T is NO RESERVE, U S Shipping is $1.70. Non U S Shipping varies by country. A quote of actual mailing will be provided on request: no hidden charges, ever.
