ERWIN — While the building currently sits in disrepair and smaller in size than it once was, the Unaka Springs Hotel was once a hotbed of activity for visitors looking to take part in outdoor activities or have a meal with friends and family.

An advertisement for the hotel, which was built in the late 1800s, from the book “Erwin Tennessee: A Pictorial History, 1891-1929” by late Unicoi County historian James A. Goforth describes some of the amenities available to guests.
