I am back with a few more jades that are from my personal dwindling collection. These jade carvings have been dated as accurately as possible by the sources I purchased them from and by my own amassed knowledge of 15 years of studies, but there is no paper trail and I cannot absolutely verify the exact age of any of these pieces. Please study the pictures well and bid according to your level of comfort and expertise. This is a most unusual ancient jade amulet in the shape of a vertebrate bone with a stylized face on it. I have seen something similar from Tibet that was actual human bone but only 50 years or so old, not 5,000 years old like this artifact. It has a wonderful ancient just dug look to it and has never been cleaned or polished in any way. Though I can never be certain, I suspect it was used as a healing amulet, and probably by a shaman. It is a genuine Hongshan Culture carving that dates to 3,500 to 2,200 BC. It has been with me nearly since the beginning of my collecting and has always held a strange and strong appeal to me. Like the others, it is time to let this go to a new home. It is in excellent condition for its age and it measures about 2-3/8 x 1-5/8 x 1-1/8 inches. Free shipping is in USA only. I will ship internationally but please inquire.
