Unusual rare19th century bevelled shield wall mirror.

Unusual 19th century bevelled glass shielsssd shape mirror seit in an ebonised background with incised gilt decoration in the bottom corners. The shield mirror which is also slightly convex, is bevelled around the outside and is surrounded by a gilt moulding which stands proud of the glass. The outer edges of the ebonised mounting board are framed with a plain gilt half round framing moulding makeing the depth of the mirror about an inch. the condition of the mirror glass is generaly good with only a slight age flecking in a very small area. The surounding raised gilt mould surounding the shield glass is good, the ebonised framing board is in keeping with the mirrors age with only one split to the wood. The outer half round gilt frame is good too. The gilt areas of the mirror might benifit from regilding, but this is entirely down to taste.

The mirror measures 21 inches high by 20 inches wide approximatly.

the mirror is very unusual and a very nice size, also untouched from the time it was made.
