This helmet is the complete deal--the headgear worn by US Airborne troops on D-Day-and the best one you'll ever find. To be more specific, it is the finest reconstruction available of the scarce US WWII M1C paratrooper's helmet, crafted by the people who made all the parachutist's helmets for "Saving Private Ryan." It has been fitted with a new suspension & drawstring, nape strap, V-straps fitted with OD-finished mid-war-issue GI "mock roller" buckles, molded-leather chincup, sweatband, and standard chinstrap. The "triple-V herringbone" webbing used in crafting the interior components is newly-milled and is of the appropriate weight and WWII "khaki" color--superb stuff. The sweatband is stitched with original WWII-issue thread. Female "Baby Durable" oxidized brass snaps have been added to the liner shell's interior receive the securing ends of the M1C steel helmet's pot straps. The liner chinstrap is crafted of "Army russet" leather in the appropriate weight, fitted with the correct, flat medium-OD-painted original hardware. The V-straps are of original G-I issue webbing. The chincup is beautifully, deeply-molded, finished in Army russet enamel, and lined with real chamois. This liner
