Here is an interesting and unusual group of four postal history items employing the £1 and £5 large-format values plus make-up values in the very popular area of Machin or Queen Elizabeth II definitive stamps. They are registered high-value bank parcel tag helping to make up £7.80 in total postage for sending cash from Galashiels, Selkirkshire (2); Hawick in Roxburghshire, (both of these are now the Scottish Borders); and Dalbeatie, Dumfries and Galloway, to the Clydesdale Bank HQ in Glasgow. These tags were attached to the cash and were sent on their way. The postmarks are neat but somewhat faint in some cases. They were posted in 1979 and 1980. The stamps, as is to be expected, have faults such as creases, but the ensemble is highly collectable. One has had the hole for the fixing twine torn off. Note that some have large red wax seals (their depth has resulted in light leakage and the dark areas on the scans, which are not on the tags). The lower value stamps, by the way, include a block of 20p Machins and normal and Scottish Machins. Unusual but logical usages of high-value Machins. As I now have an eBay shop anyone who purchases one of my items might want to look there before paying. Additional postage is free for subsequent purchases unless they are too big for my normal very low basic rates. See my other items ! When payment
