is a Stanley No. 71 antique router. It fits a type 6 type study. It has the 1901 patent date on base for the blade adjuster. It also has the throat closing attachment as part of the blade locking mechanism - a part not often found as they were only offered for a very short time and were often misplaced or lost over time. This plane has all the original parts in fine condition. The metal is very clean and shiny. The wood is chip & crack free and has a worn in luster. Smooth bottom with no trace of any rust. Would be a great user but because of its age and rarity better to put this in an antique tool collection and get one of the many newer versions for a user. A scarce and fine Stanley tool.
