Antique Victorian Era Smoking Pipe We acquired this along with other pipes at an Estate Auction. Pipe comes in original hard case. Inside the case t is BBB inside a diamond (Britains Best Briar). Nice old briar pipe has a sterling silver band that connects the mouthpiece. The band is stamped with L-B (Levesley Brothers?) and 3 hallmarks, an anchor = Birmingham, R = 1891, & a lion + .925 Sterling Silver (see closeup photo). The mouthpiece is a amber plastic material but we are not sure if it is original to the pipe. Pipe is in great condition for its age. T is an area on the bottom of the pipe w it connects to the silver band w the briar has a small chip (shown in last photo)and the bowl also has a tiny nick that isn't very noticeable. The mouthpiece does show some wear & teeth marks. The case shows wear on the outside, the inside has tobacco residue staining. A great old collectible pipe by one of the oldest companies. Pipe measures 4 7/8" long overall, mouthpiece measures 2 1/2" long, bowl measures approx 1 3/4" tall x 1 1/8" across the top of the bowl, the bowl 1/8" thick.
