On offer is a delightful fairing that I think probably dates from the Victorian era but I can't be sure. It may have been made in Germany as that is where most of them were made. Items like this are named fairings because they were given away as prizes at fairs in the Victorian era. This one has a matt look to it and appears to be made from bisque porcelain. Please take a good look at the pictures and decide for yourself if my dating etc is correct. I am happy to answer any question you may have if it helps you at all.
The piece depicts a pig sat in what looks like a woven covered basket chair. The chair measures about 11cm high and is about 6cm at the widest part. It has been crafted to give a realistic texture to the chair and also the curtain or trim that decorates the front edge.
