Antique Mid victorian period top quality solid silver pocket watch in very good used condition,the watch is a traditional styled piece featuring a key wound movement,face display i a fantastic affair in gold roman on brushed silver with blue steel hour and minute arms intact,watch face also features a turned pattern seconds dial with blue steel needle intact,the centre to the watch face is beautifully engraved with a closed halo gallery of floral work,the watch face is intact with dome glass face in good order,albert bale is solid and secure as are hinges to both back plate and front face,(movement can be lifted out of front on hinge) the back of the watch is finished with a hand turned pattern set in the centre with an traditional scottish buckle styled type cartouch vacant and ready for engraving if desired, the silver case to the watch is impressed with assay markings indicating London,circa 1862 with the makers mark 'R.O' for Richard Oliver of Galway Street,St.Lukes,London,, some light wear is present to the watch case from old age and handling,no dents,splits or repairs,the face display is in nicely preserved condition but will benefit from a gentle clean as will the watch case,the watch movement runs well but there is no key,i tested the movement using a universal pocket watch key, a fine example of the period,. diameter : read more
