Victorian Gilded Cut Glass Oxford Lavender Scent Bottle

Description - An excellent early Victorian cut glass attar bottle - also known as a Teardrop, Oxford Lavender, or Throwaway. The solid glass scent of cut rectangle form, having only a 3mm wide narrow inlet for the perfume, has facetted sides complete with square cut gilded stopper, good attention to detail. Decorated with gilt scrolls, leaves and ovals with a solid gilt band around the rim and solid gilt base. Dating to around 1830 - 1850. A rare find with original stopper in place.

Condition Report - The solid bottle has weight and is in excellent condition. The glass is clean and clear and the gilding rreamins brigh and little worn. A lovely attar from the early part of the C19th in super condition.
