This is an early Victorian hallmarked sterling silver lidded glass cosmetic jar. It was assayed in London in 1841/2 and made by George Reid.The silver lid is monogrammed 'MAB', and hallmarked to the underside. The hallmarks are fairly clear, apart from the assay office. There is a small dent to the edge of the lid.The glass has cut fluting and is in good general condition.The lid weighs 14g while the whole item weighs 167g.The jar is 7.5cm tall and 5.5cm in diameter.
