This sextant has been in the family since WW-II, possibly before, and in storage for the better part of the last 50 yearsLast inspected (according to the tag) Nov. 15, 1938 Scribed "U.S. Navy no. 42.67" Condition
It's got a bit of cooper oxide, and surface rust on steel partsAll moving parts operate smoothly Mirrors, lenses and filters intact Will need a good cleaning, but still functional after all these years Box has seen better days, but still holds together Lower rear seam has cracked, as seen in the photos One hinge has come unscrewed, screws are missing Carrying handle and closures intact The wood itself is solid, not rotted at all Includes 3 eyepieces, 2 extra mirrors (one w/poor reflector material), 1 square socket adjusting thimb screw, and screwdriver.
