Vintage 1957 Coca Cola Plaque.
Rare original Coca Cola piece.
Bronze plaque mounted on wood base. Awarded to the Petersburg Coca-Cola Bottling Works, Inc. in 1957 celebrating 50 years bottling Coca Cola (1907-1957).
Plaque measures 16" x 12". Metal portion of the plaque measures 12 3/4" x 9 1/2." It is very heavy.
The Petersburg Coca-Cola Bottling Works is one of a group of 18 plants which compose the James E. Crass organization. James E. Crass, founder of this organization, first became interested in Coca-Cola in 1902 at the Charleston S.C. exposition, and he acquired the Charleston, S.C. franchise.
In 1906 he acquired the Richmond, VA franchise, which included several sub plants, one of them in Petersburg.
