VINTAGE EARLY 1970's SONY HP-239A HI-FI MUSIC SYSTEM This auction is for a vintage early 1970's Sony HP-239a music system with original Sony speakers in used condition as shown in the photographs. Please note the photos shown are of the ACTUAL items you are bidding for, we do not use library / catalogue images. This was bought at a local auction house recently. As is usual, they have cut off the speaker wires so we are unable to test the speakers. It is a simple job to fit new speaker wires to the speakers if you have a soldering iron. Hopefully they will work fine when new wires are fitted, though we cannot guarantee this of course. The speakers are model SS-210. They are two-way units, each with a 16cm woofer and 5cm tweeter. Impedance is 8 ohms. Maximum power handling capacity (full-range music) is 18W. The automatic turntable is model TTS-310. The cassette player / recorder is model TC-219. Stylus is ND-114P. The music unit itself luckily had a plug-in mains. Everything works as it should as far as we can determine. We have tested the sound output with headphones. The turntable, radio and cassette all appear to work fine. I think there is something wrong with the speed selector on the turntable, to play LP's at the right speed you need to set the speed switch to 45 RPM for some reason.
