For your consideration is a beautiful, rare sideline jacket used in the 1970s by a player(s) from the USC Trojans. Manufactured by Goodman & Sons, the jacket features their tagging in the neckine. The number "27" has been written on the tag. The style of tag dates the jacket from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. The jacket is a lightweight nylon material that was intended to protect players from rain and wind. The "USC" designation has been sewn across the rear in large 8 inch letters. The Goodman tag gives the size as an "X-Large," and the jacket measures approx. 30 inches from pit to pit, as well as approx. 28 inches from side to side across the bottom. The jacket was designed to be worn by a player in full uniform, and would have been large enough for anyone to wear! The nylon material resists wear quite well, and I could find no major problems to report. The inside does reflect heavy overall use and gives the garment a feel of vintage service. The original zipper is still present and works fine, and the original drawstring along the neckline also remains and is in fine shape. I have never seen a jacket like this available on the open market. It will be a great addition to any USC Trojans or NCAA collection!
