Up for auction here is an antique Koken brand barber's chair possibly from the 1930's or 1940's. This is the type of chair which was popular at barber shops at the time. This chair is made of heavy steel and has many very nice features including a porcelain base, porcelain handles and back rest as well as a foot rest. This model is the popular round seat model and I believe that it still has the original upholstery on the back rest and foot rest. This chair is a great restoration candidate and all the parts appear to be present with the exception of the head rest. The chair does show its age and would definitely need to be cleaned and re-plated to make it perfect. There is also a crack in the ornamental plate which goes behind the patrons calfs. It may also need to be refilled with hydraulic oil. Don't miss this opportunity to own a true piece of early 20th century Americana. This chair is very heavy and is a true quality piece.
