Vintage Chinese Hand Painted Bone Peacock Fan. This fan appears to be very old and is a fine example of hand painting on feathers. Tips are peacock feathers. Feathers are threaded together with bone sticks, all with pierced design. The loop at the bottom is brass. Attached is a very finely woven strand, at the bottom of which a lovers knot has been made. Two beads attach to the bottom of the knot, and white and green threads extend past. The central painting is a bird, flanked by colorful rose bouquets. On the back is a smaller rose bouquet. It would be beautiful lightly restored & put into a shadowbox! Measurements in inches: 22 at widest, 19 tallest. Fan only, to tips of feathers is 13. Condition: Missing right end feather, some feather losses, last peacock eye, minor paint losses. One bone has small hole. Some colored thread losses at bottom.
