This tin of buttons came from the estate of a Missouri woman who had married in the 1930's. This is a very old tin filled with buttons made from bakelite, celluloid, catalin, plastic, mother of pearl, a few glass, and many colors including large wafer buttons and black designer type buttons. T are shirt, coat, pant, and decorator buttons. Pinks, greens, blues, reds, and blacks proedominate although t are a number of brown as well. The tin measures 10 inches across and is 3 1/2 inches tall, in good condition with no dents. The buttons with the tin weigh 4 pounds. The clipping is for a tea towel dutch boy day of the week embroidery project published October 10, 1936. That is way before WWII. T are a few more recent buttons as well, but most are very old, great colors. Great for crafts, theater projects and collecting. You won't be disappointed with the bounty of this find. I have a bunch of other vintage buttons also listed, thanks for looking.
