Vintage BW Photo Lou Marron World Record Broadbill 1953
Framed Vintage Black and White PhotoFramed b/w photo of Lou Marron off the coast of Iquique, Chile, May 7, 1953. Marron caught the world-record broadbill swordfish (and is pictured with it , 1182 pounds, after a two-hour battle in which the triple strength 12/0 hook opened up. At the time, it was the heaviest fish ever caught on a rod and reel and today retains the world record. The fish hangs above the podium at the Miami Beach Rod and Reel Club. The photo is set in a step-back black wood frame and has non reflective glass. The frame measures 11 1/2 " x 9 1/2 ". These photos are from a former Dallas seafood restaurant owner. These photos graced the walls of this old established Dallas restaurant. It is not known whether these photos are originals or prints. Condition: The image is very discernable. The photo, frame, non reflective glass are in good condition, the backing has been removed. T are two holes, one on the right and one on the left sides of the frame w it was attached to the restaurant wall. This is the 3rd and last grouping of photos; the buyers who bid and won on the first 2 groupings have been very pleased.
