This beautiful Brooch/Pin comes from the Art Deco Era!The Art Deco Era is famous for being the "Gatsby" or "Roaring Twenties" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period.During the Art Deco Period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.During the heyday of the Art Deco Era Marcasite jewelry was very popular during all the wild parties. Iron Pyrite would be hand Rose Cut into facets to create marcasites. This stone was popular due to the way the light would catch these facets, even from across the room!The Piece:The Brooch/Pin features the design of a gorgeous peacock decorated with sparkly marcasites. The combination of a sterling silver and Marcasites was a very popular during the roaring twenties are and was made to catch the eye!The Brooch/Pin could use a more thorough cleaning, it was only gently cleaned sinceit is a rare historical piece.The Brooch/Pin weighs 16.8 gramsThe Brooch/Pin is slightly less than 2 and a half inches wide (66mm) and slightly less than an inch tall (23mm)Antique and Vintage jewelry is disappearing at alarming rates.
