I have for auction, a small brass ashtray with a detachable handle. These were made to fit in ladie's purses. This belonged to my husband's grandmother who died at the age of 92 in the early 60's. She had this in a small box and it appears to have never been used. I believe this to be from the 1950's or earlier.

It is a small brass box, 1.75 x 1.5 x 1/2. The handle is 1.5" long and attaches at the back. T is a 5/8" long white enamel cigarette with a red glowing ash and a white plume of smoke on the lid.

It looks almost new except that it needs a polishing, which I leave to the buyer, and as you can see, t are 2 small dark spots on the top. The inside shows no sign of use.

This is a great item, in great shape, for the collector of vintage tobacciana. A lovely piece and a real "blast from the past".

Thanks for looking and great shopping.
