This is a very old, bright, vintage lightweight (3lbs. 12 oz.), 70" x 80" quilt (shown on full size bed), made in the true early American tradition of using small left over fabric pieces to fashion a quilt. There are so many different fabrics in this quilt, some used just in one block (see pictures). The main circles, or petal, design is all made of a solid yellow. All the fabrics seem to be cotton, a muslin backing and a cotton fill. I can't say for sure, but it appears to me that all piece work has been done by hand, along with the scalloped edging and quilting. Quilting is about 5-7 stitches an inch. The quilt has been hand laundered and is fresh and clean. This isn't a quilt for everyday use and laundering, it is old and getting delicate. I have mended one place on the edging to stabilize--pictures show both side and up close (this is one mend). Please ask any questions you may have. Thank you.
